Feeding Louisiana Presents Anti-Hunger Day at the Capitol on Wednesday, April 30, 2025
BATON ROUGE, LA – Hunger relief advocates will gather at the Louisiana State Capitol on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, to raise awareness about food insecurity in Louisiana. Anti-Hunger Day at the Capitol is presented by Feeding Louisiana and the Louisiana Anti-Hunger Coalition and is sponsored by No Kid Hungry Louisiana.
Anti-Hunger Day at the Capitol will bring together an estimated 250 food bank and food pantry staff members and volunteers, legislators, farmers, Louisianians impacted by food insecurity, and other hunger relief advocates from throughout the state.
The goal of this advocacy day is to shine a light on food insecurity, uplift the voices of Louisianians facing hunger, and advocate for crucial anti-hunger programs and initiatives such as SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), hunger free college campuses, food procurement from Louisiana farmers, and free school meals.

An estimated 267,950 children (1 in 4 Louisiana children, or 25%) are facing hunger – that’s more than the population of Baton Rouge
