There are no words to express how happy it has made me and my team to be able to help people every day whether it’s healthcare, hunger, or even just simply offering information. To be there for those who need it, is one of the best feelings you could experience. I’m overly joyed I got to experience this with my team.
— Tiffany Fontenot, Medicaid Outreach Coordinator
  • As a Medicaid Outreach Coordinator, the last 10 months have been eye opening that there is a lot of communities that need some type of assistance and help. To share the personal growth, I gained during this time was impactful. I learned how to find joy in not only helping those who need it but found joy in the changes that I helped make in the community, achieving all my goals, and just becoming the best version of myself.

  • I feel I impacted the community by helping those who need it by being there and offering assistance and information to those who don't know or have the resources to help them. To sit and hear everyone's different stories or questions while being able to guide them to where they need to be is insightful for not only them, but me.

  • As a Medicaid Outreach Coordinator, I've learned to be more open minded and fully listen to those. I've learned so much about healthcare and Medicaid while mainly working by myself. I've gained so much knowledge that I can take it and build with it in my next role.

  • I have so many highlights for this experience, but I'll name a few.

    1. Making a difference in people's lives.

    2. Working in and more creative ways.

    3. Gaining new skills.

    4. Being around others who have the same mindset to not just have a job, but to really enjoy helping people and their community.

  • Gaining this experience in this role has given me the opportunity to move forward with a new job opportunity. I will be able to move forward and still use this experience with not only throughout my career, but to those who in need help.

  • I'll never forget I was at Mother Drexel's Wellness Center in St. Martinville, LA. They do free health checkups with Lafayette's University Nursing Students, and I was there to conduct Medicaid when I met a lady name Oriela Williams. She was beyond happy to see me there as she lost her job and her insurance. She told me she goes to Mother Drexel's Wellness Center for the free checkups since she's on a fixed income. I helped her apply for Medicaid and she was approved right away. She gave me a hug and said an angel sent her my way. She mentioned there needs to be more help like this in small communities.
